No real detailed explanation for specific adjustments are ever given. Just theoretical rationales whichi turn out to be based on assumptions. Are we to believe Iceland, Paraguary, Greenland (ruled by Denmark), NZ once didn't know how to take temperature readings at the right time and the solution is to adjust their historic readings down? What bullshit.

When they make adjustments for "station moves" or "TOBS changes" they are actually just using an algorithm which ASSUMES those things. The algorithm doesn't really know anything about the station moving or TOBS changing.

the fact that they can provide theoretical justifications for data tampering, tells us absolutely nothing about the correctness of what they are actually doing’.
