The disruption of rail was so important in WWII that we continued to teach the tactics and techniques.

The interesting thing is that the Soviets only made 2 locomotives during the war. They got about 2000 flat cars which they used to transport armor to different fronts to maintain an offensive tempo.
That's an interesting statistic since the Russians used an entirely different rail line gauge for their Trains than used in Europe or the US.

The Germans had to completely rebuild captured Russian rail lines in order to run their trains on them..

Really had a major impact on their early re-supply efforts in 1941.
