I'm a Sam's Club member and although their items in store are similar to Costco, our local Costco is larger and therefore stocks more items. Where Sam's wins in my case is their gasoline sales which Costco doesn't offer. The fuel costs are generally cheaper than the surrounding service stations, and now Sam's offers a Mastercard that has a 5% rebate on gas up to $6000.00 a year, 3% on groceries and 1% on everything else. The card is free and substitutes as my membership card.

The fuel sales are for any gas station and groceries for any name brand grocery store.

I go there once a week and buy gas whether I need it or not because of the cheaper price.

As stated in another post, no Visa, Amex, Discover accepted, but debit cards are OK.

I have a Chase Freedom card but can't stand the rotating quarterly rebates that they think are the bomb. I can't keep up with it and why should anyone have to.

Costco was a madhouse today. Full Parking Lot, and every register had a line. Still, they check out much faster than Walmart.
