Craig,

I need to go look but something is wrong here. My data has no MSSmart
dirs in it. When you save the default type is smart chart. You can easily select the chart instead of smart chart and not have smart
chart data saved.....

Craig, "I delete old MS data nightly along with their MSsmart subdirectories for new output from QP scans, but once a chart is viewed in MS. . . whamo . . . another MSSmart directory, despite having Smart Charts turned off. " Which is what I don't understand why. I even called equis tech support yesterday, and they were of no help either. I asked why QPdata is loaded automatically as MSSmart charts and he said it was an issue w/ qp sw as I wasn't using MS's downloader...therefore he couldn't help my any further. Except to reiterate that the only way to get non Smart charts is to save under "file, new, chart", after opening ALL the Charts in the Smart charting mode. Ridiculous. You say you delete MS data nightly?
I don't follow. You need the daily updates, and running the data update program in QP automatically puts it in the Equis/Data folders..all of which have the MSSMart dir.in them, even ones I setup new after smart charts have been turned off...then last night it refused to update this folder and gave me a error 267...whatever that means?

I'm pretty confused as to how to handle this as you can probably tell. I'm just have to keep deleting, and reloading the data I guess till I get what I'm looking for.

Thanks again for the help,
chrisg
