James, is this stock going to zero? Per the chart, short interest went up in November, and I'm sure much more the first few weeks of December. It's not just short-selling, but tax-loss too. And then panic. These work together...that's why it makes sense for hedge funds to short heavily near the end of the year here. These guys get paid based on maximum return...

I should also add, options can be used to create "synthetic short positions" which is difficult to measure. Speaking of options, I'm sure the recent moves are to a large part related to them.

We've already discussed Asian exposure, ad infinitum. MRVC has about the same exposure as Cisco (12-15 percent). Cisco is near a 52-week high, MRVC is near a 52-week low.
