Do you remember the guy in the Joy Luck Club.....one of the wives living in America had been married to him when she lived in China. He was very good looking and was a player in JLC. I had a friend tell me that when he broke open the watermelon she just about took off all her clothes. Yes, that was Russell Wong, whom I talked about several posts back. Many Asian women had a crush on him, but then hated him for playing that character on JLC, LOL ... I just looked up his IMDb........lots of credits.......both tv and movies but nothing I've seen. If anyone was leading man material, he was: imdb.com He was born in Troy, NY btw. Another one that surprised me that she didn't get more work was the daughter who was the child chess prodigy.......the woman who played her as an adult was one hot woman. I thought for sure she would get more parts but I've only seen her in a couple of things since JLC. Tamlyn Tomita. Her big break was Karate Kid Part 2, if you remember Daniel-san's love interest from that film. Anyway, that actress has kept busy even after JLC, but not in any major motion picture titles (except for Day After Tomorrow). One that I watched recently on basic cable was Tekken, a movie based on the video game of the same name. She played the mother of the protagonist, and even at her age she has kept most of her good looks. Yeah, and as I suspected, she's Japanese American, not Chinese American.........she looked more Japanese to me. I saw her in a movie or on tv recently too........she also played a mother and yeah, she's still very pretty.
