I assert that all solar panels and windmills are made using fossil fuels, out of materials mined using fossil fuels, are transported across oceans on fossil fuel powered ships, and transported to their place of installation using fossil fuels.
I don't see anything wrong with that. The idea is that the power they generate should more than make up for the energy and material costs to build them, set them up, and maintain them.

The problem is that they don't. Windmills are pretty high maintenance, and solar can't generate nearly as much power as they need to in order to be a viable, self-sustaining form of energy generation.
