You shouldn't believe what you see on MSNBC. Here's a fact - Obamacare is raising taxes on loads of low income folks. More on this in my next post.

Democrats Freaking Out as Obamacare Tax-Penalty-Fee-Fines Loom for Millions of Americans

You silly twit. Posting about the GOP "eyeing" tax increases on low income .... when the Democrat Obamanocare bill has actually DONE IT.

The article below is about people facing tax penalties for not signing up for Obamanocare. In addition, there are loads of people who didn't accurately estimate their income for purposes of determining if they qualified for an Obamanocare subsidy .... they'll have to pay undeserved subsidies back when they file their taxes.

Well, I'll be damned.

Who could have predicted that 2,500 pages of law and 50,000 pages of regulations -- that not one person read in toto -- would turn out to be a complete cluster?

The official sign-up season for President Barack Obama's health care law may be over, but leading congressional Democrats say millions of Americans facing new tax penalties deserve a second chance.

Three senior House members strongly urged the administration Monday to grant a special sign-up opportunity for uninsured taxpayers who will be facing fines under the law for the first time this year.

The three are Michigan's Sander Levin, the ranking Democrat on the Ways and Means Committee, and Democratic Reps. Jim McDermott of Washington, and Lloyd Doggett of Texas. All worked to help steer Obama's law through rancorous congressional debates from 2009-2010.

The lawmakers say they are concerned that many of their constituents will find out about the penalties after it's already too late for them to sign up for coverage, since open enrollment ended Sunday.

That means they could wind up uninsured for another year, only to owe substantially higher fines in 2016. The fines are collected through the income tax system.

"For the many families who may now be about to pay a penalty, there should be an opportunity to avoid both further penalties and to obtain affordable health insurance," said Doggett.

This year is the first time ordinary Americans will experience the complicated interactions between the health care law and taxes. Based on congressional analysis, tax preparation giant H&R Block says roughly 4 million uninsured people will pay penalties.

You can't make this s*** up.

The whole point of the tax-penalty-fee-fine was to force people into the program so that Obamacare wouldn't collapse under its own weight.

And now the Democrats are concerned?

Too late, dipsticks. Next time try reading the damn bill before you pass it.

Jackson Hewitt: More than half of clients repaying part or all of Obamacare subsidies

.....
Yesterday was the last day of the Obamacare open enrollment period for 2015, and now as we transition into tax season, people are starting to learn that those amazing subsidies that at last made health insurance “affordable” for so many weren’t exactly carved in stone.
.........
A piece published Friday evening at CNN Money entitled “I have to pay back my Obamacare subsidy” relays stories of sticker shock by those who saw their generous subsidies all but disappear. The first involves Los Angeles resident Janice Riddle.

The Los Angeles resident had applied for Obamacare in late 2013, when she was unemployed. She qualified for a hefty subsidy of $470 a month, leaving her with a monthly premium of $1 for the cheapest plan available.

Riddle landed a job in early 2014 at a life insurance agency, but since her new employer didn’t offer health benefits, she kept her Obamacare plan. However, she didn’t update her income with the California exchange, which she acknowledges was her mistake.

Now, she has to pay back the entire subsidy, which is forcing her to dip into her savings.

[

CNN reports that “53% of Jackson Hewitt clients who received subsidies have to repay part or all of it, with the largest being $12,000.”

Apparently the IRS is holding back returns and "investigating" those who did not sign up for Obamacare. Yay America

twitchy.com

Obamanocare was passed without a single Republican vote. Republicans were locked out of the conference rooms where the bill was written .... even though Obama had promised the bill would be transparent and would be drafted on CSPAN (LOL). Republicans tried to get the bill read in Congress before voting. Democrat legislators mocked the very idea of reading legislation before voting on it. The empty-headed Democratic Speaker of the House (who I believe represents Mars district) actually said "We have to pass the bill to find out what's in the bill."

What could possibly go wrong? Everything. This program was a disaster from the getgo and is only getting worse.
