I will be showing it to my other 1/2 and I'm sure we'll be exploring the options you mentioned.

Hadn't thought of, and didn't realize you could run two gens simultaneously?

To remedy, many buy two Hondas (they can be rigged to run in parallel) and gives you more juice than you need for anything.

We still have that setup and have had it for at least 10 years.
Only difference is instead of Honda, I have 2 Yamaha gensets, 2 KW each.
There is a simple wiring harness that connects both for 2x the power when needed.

Never had a problem with it, but very seldom used both. Usually a fan is enough for us.

When we sold the last camper, we kept both as back up to our house genet.

Expecting 1 degree temp here later today. Then it goes lower.
