Why would the United States throw away one of its closest friends in the Middle East remains a mystery to many including reporters who asked White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest about endorsing Egypt’s growing campaign against ISIS, and so did State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki. It is becoming obvious that Obama’s policies will allow ISIS to control Libya and later even the whole of North Africa which will turn that entire region into the next Somalia. Libya is already turning into another Mogadishu which no serious analyst can refute. “We are neither condemning nor condoning” one U.S. official said regarding Egypt striking ISIS in Libya. So why would these two once-close nations be fighting separate campaigns against their mutual foe: ISIS?
