Mercedes used to be OWNED by MOT for car kit electronics. But I never once had to go to MOT to get my handset fixed. Was all MB. and it was all warranty, and it was all fixed. It just was ALWAYS a load of CRAP.

Same model. You don't go to Clarion for your high end Clarion system in your Buick........

Same for Bose, HK, etc......

but if you want to get into who controls the drive train, yes...YIKES!!

but there are liability issues with simple things like Bluetooth. Do you lock out PIN and pairing connections during driving or not? If you do not, who pays when someone crashes while pairing? Will the car company throw you under the bus for your engineering design when they lose the pairing lawsuit and say it was all your fault for how you built the Bluetooth and screen and did not have the forethought to lock it out during driving? Did your ability to use the screen make you miss hitting your brakes or distract you enough so that you would not steer out of the way of something.

Is there a pop up screen that you send out when your hooked to Bluetooth? Did your Bluetooth connection itself, cause the driver to look away and have to handle how to find a song in your iphone? was it the iphone or the Bluetooth interface that did it? Was it a glitch in your driver that made it pause for 5 seconds when the person changes a channel on your audio device that actually caused the person to be distracted when they crashed? was your lack of a fully documented regression test on all software and all possible cases the CAUSE for the crash? Did the fact that you had recursive code and not reentrant code cause the software driver to fail? Was that code actually a contractor who was hired by your bluetooth company and thus the Bluetooth company throws the contractor under the bus (who had to have $1M in liability insurance to work for the Bluetooth company) and then it is his fault?
