Imagine this little crab escapes this predator, there are plenty more waiting to eat him below, one imagines Nature's natural selection gets to be pretty efficiently culling out, with every kind of adpatation, in every kind of envirionment. The web of life is vast, emeshed on so many levels, microbes in the soil, the plants, to insects like the cockroaches & ants that clean up the dead, litter & debris. There's hardly a place we look where we don't find life & usually interwoven in some blessed food chain. (if the food chain wasn't blessed, they wouldn't have created entire inustries offering the fat & meat from 1000's of animals to their 'god')
