Respond to of 1577465 MSNBC to Move Away From Left-Wing TVIs this true??? February 20, 2015 by Daniel Greenfield To what exactly? Left-wing rants are the closest thing MSNBC had to a brand . We’re talking about a cable news channel which was such a bad idea that its name combines Microsoft and NBC (No, Microsoft isn’t involved. Even it has better judgement.) But left-wing rants by Social Justice Warriors in retro glasses no longer pay the bills . So the ax is falling and SJW talking heads are rolling down the red carpet. I predicted this last year. The Maddow MSNBC is a leftist student newspaper stridently denouncing racism, sexism, homophobia, claustrophobia, transphobia, pipelines, microaggressions, white privilege, cherry pies, political incorrectness, model trains and obesity . Unlike the left’s highly successful mainstream media apparatus, it is overcrowded with professors of political correctness and Twitter activists who can’t talk to people, only at people, who assume that everyone who matters already agrees with them and that this self-important population is already watching MSNBC. MSNBC has lost the ability to talk to ordinary people. Even other liberals are beginning to evince a distaste for it. I p redicted Farrow’s firing in October and the end of the Maddow era. Now the era is officially over.It was hardly a surprise Thursday when ratings-challenged MSNBC announced the cancellation of the poor-performing afternoon programs hosted by Ronan Farrow and Joy Reid after less than a year…In the relatively near term, two well-placed sources predicted to The Daily Beast, Chris Hayes will be relieved of his weak-performing 8 p.m. show All In, to be replaced by the current 9 p.m. host of The Rachel Maddow Show, while a talent search is underway to fill the prime-time slot to be vacated by Maddow… In the longer term, these sources said, the Rev. Al Sharpton—a larger-than-life personality who attracts a 35 percent African-American audience but continues, after 3½ years of nightly practice, to wrestle with his Teleprompter—could eventually be moved from his weeknight 6 p.m. slot to a weekend time period, as MNSBC President Phil Griffin attempts to reverse significant viewership slides by accentuating straight news over left-leaning opinion. “Everybody in the food chain from top to bottom understands that the Olbermann era is over,” said an MSNBC source, referring to the glory days during George W. Bush’s administration when incendiary liberal Keith Olbermann regularly attracted a million viewers—many of them seeking refuge from White House and Republican talking points. The MSNBC source said, “Going left was a brilliant strategy while it lasted and made hundreds of millions of dollars for Comcast, but now it doesn’t work anymore…The goal is to move away from left-wing TV.” Ronan Farrow and Chris Hayes were, among other things, incredibly irritating. But really, is MSNBC going to try doing straight news when CNN can’t make that work? Maybe it’s time to just sell out to Al Jazeera? http://www.frontpagemag.com/2015/dgreenfield/msnbc-to-move-away-from-left-wing-tv/ JJ • 21 hours ago This a sad day for cable news. It's like the death of a clown or court jester. MSNBC was comedy gold. It was always entertaining: Al Sharpton struggling to read a teleprompter, and Chris Hayes and Maddow always kept you guessing about their true gender. Who can forget Joy Reid and her race-based antics? I can never forget a slurring and unkempt Chris Matthews foaming at the mouth talking about " racist dog whistles". I'm saddened that I'll never be able to laugh like that again.
