I get that. Perhaps I've made a semantic misinterpretation of his statement that the fact (if it is one) that 2014 was hot implied somehow that it was the hottest in 100K years.

In both Alaska and the Alps, retreating glaciers have revealed mature trees that grew only a few thousand years ago ... you're right that that alone casts severe doubt on the silly warmest in 100K years claim.
