Pelz, Let's not hype this. But if your numbers are correct then in theoriticaly speaking potentially AMD would have Intel's present capacity of 100Million chips (10 fabs) with only two Fabs. Assuming the completion of Dresden. Is this what your numbers are saying. I can see why Yousef hits the fan. AMD would have the most effecient and state of the art CPU manufacturing plants in the world and Intel would have a huge write off to stare at. No wonder they started to quietly build that new fab in Oregon. I got the first NASA satalite pictures of site complete with dirt moving equipment.

Petz , thanks for the calculations . I had made similar calcs.
before and came to the conclusion that Intel has a vast overcapacity .
The reasons are evident from your calculations and shows that the combination of such tiny dies as K6 and .25 and below processes reduces the need for so many fabs .
