Could it be that those in the press who attack candidates/politicians/office holders at the least, tiniest mention of religion are afraid of looking at their own religious beliefs or lack of the same. Hence, they attack based upon sound-bites. A candidate preparing for office------or in office------must deal with these questions that leave insinuation by the press. These are the "have you stopped beating your wife questions"---------you can't answer yes or no. If you do you are doomed as a candidate or politician either way. Of course you don't beat your wife but how does a candidate or politician answer a question like that. By the time the candidate is through explaining, he or she has been impaled with the interviewers 'pen". Pays to be prepared.
