<<A little tip(from one Kentuckian to another)- completely disreguard all company press releases, upgrades, downgrades, earnings reports and news in general-and learn to read the technicals.>><<Terry Whitman>>

I'm sure this is solid advice, and if I ever decide to play the market I'll take care of business and learn to read the technicals. Can you recommend a good book on reading charts?

Terry,

<As irritating as Hank may be- You should listen to him here.>

I take that as a compliment! I really and truely love to see people make money and I do speak what I see is happening and what I think will happen! Most Bulls think that short sellers show up to make people sell their stock to put pressure on the stock! I can assure you, there are not that many people on SI that have enough holdings that if they all sold at once that it would make any stock go down much more than a quarter of a point! Still believe ECI may be a great company to work for, but their stock performance stinks and will continue to stink for the time being! Sell!

Hank

Terry:

As one Terry to another, I am looking at the ECI chart and would like to test my reading of it against yours. I am not very sophisticated at this, but this is what I see: It is trading below its 50 day and 200 mav and it filled the gap (sort of) recently. The chart I am looking at courtesty of Daily Charts, only goes back to June so it looks like the stock price is in virgin territority. Oh yes, the RSI at 25 is descending. The 200 day mav looks like it is about to develop a downward slope.

Is this how you look at this chart and give it a "read". How would you then translate this into action. My inclination would be to think of a short at 17, but as of today, that is not possible.
