All,

It seems that Intel has no choice but to quickly move to .25mu or below in order to add cache & extended functions into the processor chip for the sub $1,000 market. If they can pull it off under the Pentium II architecture, they will in a position to try to freeze ADM out of the market since ADM doesn't have access to the Pentimum II patents. Cyrix may have access to the Pentimum II patents thanks to National Semiconductor.

Intel was planning to move to .25mu (or below) with the Merced (1999) but they may need it for the Pentium II in 1998.

Does Cymer have a lock on Intel's business for .25mu down to .13mu???

Bob: >>What's the downside from here? 12?<<

The downside would be that at some point Curly Latts will own all the floating stock of *the* bottleneck technology controlling the entire Semiconductor Industry's future. At that point I wouldn't even care what Wall Street said it was worth. I'ld call up Akins and gang with my ideas on how to spend that $190 million of cash on the balance sheet.

Good Luck To Each And All

Curly
