GOP Surrender on Obama’s Lawless Amnesty for Illegal Aliens, a Profound Betrayal of the States

.....................................................................................
Pajamas Media ^ | 02/27/2015 | Andrew McCarthy

The power to defend one’s territory – including the power to remove aliens who have no legal right to be present – is an ineliminable component of sovereignty. The preservation of state sovereignty, in turn, is part of the core guarantee that induced the states to ratify the Constitution. At a minimum, then, federal law – made in Congress, where the states are represented – must preserve the sovereign right of states to protect themselves. Obama’s executive action not only bypasses Congress; it undoes and countermands congressional laws designed to fulfill the federal government’s duty to protect the states. The president does not merely purport to establish enforcement priorities, as any president must do. He rewrites federal law under the guise of “prosecutorial discretion.” More blatant, he presumes to confer a de facto amnesty – an adjustment of status from deportable to non-deportable – as well as other legal benefits that the Constitution empowers only Congress to grant – e.g., work permits and Social Security numbers.

On his way out the door, Eric Holder race-baits one last time

.............................................................
Hotair ^ | 02/27/2015 | Noah Rothman

Outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder just couldn’t help himself.

With his time as the nation’s chief law enforcement official coming to a close, Holder reflected on one of his deepest regrets: Failing to deliver civil rights charges for the varietyof figures embroiled in racial controversies over the course of his tenure.

When a Florida jury failed to convict George Zimmerman for role in the death of Trayvon Martin, the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division opened an investigation to determine whether Zimmerman had violated Martin’s civil rights. It was a response to the outrage displayed by those who were invested in Zimmerman’s guilt, the facts be damned. This week, the DOJ revealed that insufficient evidence existed to charge Zimmerman with civil rights violations. Holder’s response to this development, apparently, is to lament the fact that the burden of proof required to impose criminal charges on American citizens after they have been exonerated by a jury is just too high.

“I think some serious consideration needs to be given to the standard of proof that has to be met before federal involvement is appropriate, and that’s something that I am going to be talking about before I leave office,” Holder said.

It makes sense that this would be a priority for Holder. He’s written a lot of checks to Democratic base supporters regarding civil rights charges that look set to bounce. From cases that have curious outcomes that merit further investigation, like the death of Eric Garner following a confrontation with New York City police, to relatively clear-cut incidents like shooting death of Missouri teenager Michael Brown by a Ferguson police officer, Holder has pledged to review whether justice has truly been served.

“Although federal civil rights law imposes a high legal bar in these types of cases, we have resisted forming premature conclusions,” Holder said in November of last year while announcing an investigation into Officer Darren Wilson. Apparently, he’s given up on reserving judgment.

But lowering the bar for retributive justice in the United States is not the only legacy Holder hopes to secure.

He is also standing by the fact that he, the nation’s most powerful law enforcement official, and Barack Obama, the President of the United States, are victims of persistent racial discrimination.

Via Politico:

In a lengthy discussion ranging from his own exposure to the civil rights movement of the ’60s to today’s controversies surrounding the shootings of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, Holder also acknowledged that he felt some of his own struggles with Republicans in Congress during his six years in office were driven partly by race.

“There have been times when I thought that’s at least a piece of it,” Holder said, adding that “I think that the primary motivator has probably been political in nature … [but] you can’t let it deflect you from … your eyes on the prize.”

In August, when Holder was tapped by the administration to head to Ferguson to defuse some of the racially-charged tensions that erupted following Brown’s death, I noted how inappropriate it was for the White House to draft Holder into the role of racial healer. His penchant for claiming that his and the president’s conservative critics are motivated by racism should disqualify him from serving in that function.

In April, delivering a speech to the annual convention of activist/cable news host Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, the U.S. Attorney General denounced the “unprecedented, unwarranted, ugly, and divisive” rhetoric directed at Obama by Republicans. He further suggested that racism motivated some GOP members of the U.S. House of Representatives who questioned him during a committee hearing with particular vigor.

“Look at the way the attorney general of the United States was treated yesterday by a House committee,” Holder remarked. “Had nothing to do with me, what attorney general has ever had to deal with that kind of treatment? What president has ever had to deal with that kind of treatment?”

In May, Holder echoed the claims of MSNBC’s “dog whistle” detectors, who derive their job security by being able to decode the veiled racism in words like “apartment” and “golf,” when he said that subtle – nearly undetectable – racism is a greater scourge than overt discrimination. In other words, the kinds of civil rights violations which the Attorney General is empowered to prosecute are of less relevance to America’s minorities than are the coded messages which are inexplicably only decipherable for the audience these Windtalker racists supposedly trying to avoid alerting.

“There’s a certain level of vehemence, it seems to me, that’s directed at me [and] directed at the president,” Holder said on ABC’s This Week in June when asked about Republican opposition to a Democratic administration. “You know, people talking about taking their country back. … There’s a certain racial component to this for some people. I don’t think this is the thing that is a main driver, but for some there’s a racial animus.”

Holder’s outlook hasn’t changed, and his legacy will be one of limited accomplishment and dubious claims to having been a victim of racial intolerance. According to Politico, the outgoing attorney general’s next chapter will be seeking out a university willing to establish “an Eric Holder Institute for Race and Justice.”

It is safe to anticipate that this institute’s work will be long on race and lamentably short on justice.

Cloward-Piven in Full Flower?

Are we seeing Cloward-Piven snowballing right now?

Almost from the first day of Obama's presidency-- the endless scandals, lawlessness, arrogance, destructive policies foreign and domestic, the breakdown of the system of checks and balances, the utter lack of accountability for openly corrupt behavior, attacks on the social fabric of the country, rabid race baiting and class warfare.

But, it seems to me that these last several months since the midterms, everything seems to have accelerated and metastasized to a whole new level.

Obama is openly pushing Iranian nukes,

Obama is openly flooding the country with a hostile wave of immigrants,

Obama is banning ammunition by regulation,

Obama is vetoing Keystone,

Obama is advancing transgenderism into the mainstream,

Obama is going to raise taxes by executive order,

Obama is defending savage terrorism and warning threatening American patriots,

Obama is planning to rapidly increase the rate at which America is going bankrupt by handing out money to the hostile immigrants, by simply writing checks to insurance companies hurting from ObamaCare,

Obama is abandoning veterans,

Obama is having more golf outings, more vacations.

On every front the outrages multiply. As one commentator explained, the scandals and outrages come so fast day after day, that long before anyone has digested and reacted to one, the next day brings more, exhausting our ability to pursue the one from the day before.

A perfectly legal group of citizens are treated like enemies of the state in Soviet Russia.

What we are seeing is the culmination of a Cloward-Piven type of strategy to simply bury the country under the weight of so much chaos, corruption, conflict and anger that it creates a situation for these maniacs exploit to really "fundamentally transform" America to a full fledged socialist state. Is it a deliberate plan to crash the country or just Obama trying to do all the damage he can before the clock runs out?

Walker Hits Back at Obama
NRO - National Review Online ^ | March 10, 2015 | Joel Gehrke

Governor Scott Walker (R., Wis.) wasted no time in mocking President Obama’s performance with respect to the economy after the president picked a fight with him for signing a right-to-work bill into law.

“On the heels of vetoing Keystone Pipeline legislation, which would have paved the way to create thousands of quality, middle-class jobs, the President should be looking to states, like Wisconsin, as an example for how to grow our economy,” Walker said in a statement to National Review Online. “Despite a stagnant national economy and a lack of leadership in Washington, since we took office, Wisconsin’s unemployment rate is down to 5.0 percent, and more than 100,000 jobs and 30,000 businesses have been created.”

Obama said he was “deeply disappointed” in Walker’s decision to sign the legislation, which bans the mandatory collection of union dues.

Army Major sentenced to 20 years after exposing Political Correctness Run Amok in the Military

Coach is Right ^ | 3/14/15 | Glenn MacDonald, Major USARMY (Ret)

A SPECIAL INVESTIGATIVE REPORT by Major Glenn MacDonald, Editor of MilitaryCorruption.com revealed an American “Dreyfus Affair” taking place in the U.S. Army as Major Erik Burris is railroaded by his former JAG colleagues.

Major MacDonald writes of:

RETALIATION AGAINST [BURRIS] FOR TELLING TRUTH IN PREVIOUS COURT-MARTIAL ABOUT HOW ARMY PUSHES ALL FEMALE SEX CHARGE CASES TOWARD COURT-MARTIAL EVEN IF NO PROOF – DECEPTIVE PRESS RELEASE AT CONCLUSION OF MAJOR’S TRIAL AND CONVICTION FOR RAPE FAILED TO SAY ARMY’S OWN INVESTIGATIVE OFFICER FOUND BURRIS’ WIFE ACCUSER TO BE “UNTRUTHFUL” RECOMMENDED MAJ NOT BE COURT-MARTIALED NONETHELESS, HE GETS 20 YEARS IN PRISON

If a tree falls in the forest at midnight, who is there to hear it happen? That’s an unwritten axiom from the public affairs office handbook.

When the Army PAO at Fort Bragg released a terse statement to the media at the conclusion of MAJ Erik Burris’ recent court-martial that the former JAG prosecutor had been found guilty of rape and sentenced to 20 years in prison, they deliberately and deceitfully left out one very important fact.

The JAGs own female investigative officer – LTC Jessica Halling – not only found the major’s accuser – his estranged wife – was “untruthful” and “embellished” her charges, but recommended at the Article 32 (preliminary) hearing that the case NOT proceed to court-martial.

Here is a sample of what she wrote:

“My assessment is that Ms. Burris’ allegations . . . her statements to the CID . . . were driven by a combination of motives. The evidence in the case files and testimony suggests she embellished and made untruthful and/or inconsistent claims . . . her displayed emotion . . . didn’t appear genuine . . . I am left with no other alternative but that Ms. Burris is fabricating her...

TUNIS, Tunisia (AP) — Foreign tourists scrambled in panic Wednesday after militants stormed a museum in Tunisia's capital and killed 19 people, "shooting at anything that moved," a witness said.

Two gunmen were slain by security forces following the deadliest attack on civilians in the North African country in 13 years, and the president said the young democracy was embroiled in a war with terror.

The militants, who wore military-style uniforms and wielded assault rifles, burst from a vehicle and began gunning down tourists climbing out of buses at the National Bardo Museum. The attackers then charged inside to take hostages before being killed in a firefight with security forces.

Authorities launched a manhunt for two or three accomplices in the attack. Prime Minister Habib Essid said the two Tunisian gunmen killed 17 tourists — five from Japan, four from Italy, two from Colombia, two from Spain, and one each from Australia, Poland and France. The nationality of one dead foreigner was not released. Essid said two Tunisian nationals also were killed by the militants.

At least 44 people were wounded, including tourists from Italy, France, Japan, South Africa, Poland, Belgium and Russia, according to Essid and doctors from Tunis' Charles Nicolle. "I want the people of Tunisia to understand firstly and lastly that we are in a war with terror, and these savage minority groups will not frighten us," said newly elected President Beji Caid Essebsi in an evening address to the nation. "The fight against them will continue until they are exterminated."

Tunisians overthrew their dictator in 2011 and kicked off the Arab Spring that spread across the region. While the uprising built a new democracy, the country has also struggled with economic problems and attacks by extremists.

Essid identified the slain gunmen as Yassine Laabidi and Hatem Khachnaoui.

Twitter accounts associated with the extremist Islamic State group based in Syria and Iraq were described as overjoyed at the attack, urging Tunisians to "follow their brothers," according to Rita Katz of SITE, a U.S.-based organization that monitors militant groups.

The assault at the Bardo, Tunisia's largest museum that is housed in a 15th century palace, began sometime after noon local time as scores of European tourists were visiting. Josep Lluis Cusido, the mayor of the Spanish town of Vallmoll, said he saw people being gunned down on the plaza outside the museum before the gunmen moved inside.

"After they entered the museum. I saw their faces: They were about 10 meters away from me, shooting at anything that moved," Cusido told Spain's Cadena Ser radio station.

"I managed to hide behind a pillar, there were unlucky people who they killed right there," he said, adding that he and his wife spent nearly three hours in the museum until they got out uninjured.

Dozens of tourists scrambled from the museum linking arms or clutching children as Tunisian police and security forces pointed their weapons at the building. The museum, 4 kilometers (2½bd} miles) from the city center, is located near the national parliament building, which was evacuated.

Some of the Italians at the museum were believed to have been passengers from the Costa Fascinosa, a cruise liner that had docked in Tunis while on a seven-day tour of the western Mediterranean. Ship owner Costa Crociere confirmed that some of its 3,161 passengers were visiting Tunis and that a Bardo tour was on the itinerary, but said it couldn't confirm how many were in the museum at the time. The Bardo, a popular tourist attraction, houses one of the world's largest collections of Roman mosaics among its 8,000 works.

On Wednesday night, parliament held an extraordinary session where Speaker Mohammed Ennaceur called for the creation of a special fund to combat terrorism. He also called for the rapid passage of the anti-terror law that parliament had been debating when the attack took place.

Hours after the police ended the siege, thousands of Tunisians flocked to downtown's landmark Bourguiba Avenue, where the revolution took place, for a nighttime rally. They chanted for a "Free Tunisia" in defiance of terrorism.

Essid said the attack was an unprecedented assault on the economy. It came as Tunisia's all-important tourism business was starting to rebuild after drastic losses following the post-revolutionary turmoil. Numbers of arrivals for 2014 had begun to approach the levels of 2010 — before the revolution.

It was the worst attack in the country since an al-Qaida militant detonated a truck bomb in front of a historic synagogue on the Tunisia's island of Djerba in 2002, killing 21, mostly German tourists. Tunisia has been more stable than other countries in the region, but has struggled with violence by Islamic extremists who have sworn allegiance to both al-Qaida and the Islamic State group.

A disproportionately large number of Tunisian recruits — some 3,000, according to government estimates — have joined Islamic State fighters in Syria and Iraq and many have received training in neighboring Libya.

The U.S. Embassy in Tunis was attacked in September 2012, seriously damaging the embassy grounds and an adjoining American school. Four of the assailants were killed.

Overall, though, violence in Tunisia in recent years has been largely focused on security forces, not foreigners or tourist sites.

In October 2013, a young man blew himself up on a beach in the coastal town of Sousse after being chased from a hotel, causing many to expect a new wave of attacks on tourism. None materialized until now. The United States, France, the United Arab Emirates and the United Nations denounced the bloodshed. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said Washington "condemns in the strongest possible terms today's deadly terrorist attack" and praised Tunisia's "rapid response" to resolve the hostage situation and restore calm.

Speaking at the Louvre museum to call for international efforts to preserve the heritage of Iraq and Syria against extremist destruction, French President Francois Hollande said he had called Tunisia's president to offer support and solidarity.

"Each time a terrorist crime is committed, we are all concerned," Hollande said.

North Africa analyst Geoff Porter said an attack on a tourism site has long been expected as the militants come under pressure from increasingly effective Tunisian security forces.

"Today's attack did not come out of nowhere. In fact, it comes amid ongoing counterterrorism efforts elsewhere in the country," he said about the attack. "Increasing pressure on terrorist activities ... may have squeezed the balloon, with terrorists seeking softer targets with more symbolic impact in the capital." The attack came the day after Tunisian security officials confirmed the death in neighboring Libya of Ahmed Rouissi, leading suspect in Tunisian terror attacks and in the killings of two opposition figures in Tunisia.

Rouissi had become a field commander for the Islamic State in Libya and died fighting near the town of Sirte, highlighting how Libya has increasingly become a sanctuary for Tunisian radicals.

Tunisia has repeatedly expressed concern over the security threat from Libya, where central government has broken down since the 2011 ouster of Moammar Gadhafi and is now run by competing militias.

Is President Obama A Pathological Liar?

........................................................................................
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 03/21/2015 | IBT Editorials

The most frightening aspect of this president may not be his radical ideology but his rank dishonesty in selling that ideology. Now he's been caught lying about family racism. In "Dreams from My Father," his 1995 memoir, Obama used the story of his paternal grandfather's imprisonment and torture at the hands of British colonists in Kenya as an example of white cruelty. He claimed Hussein Onyango Obama was unjustly detained for six months before being released a crippled, lice-ridden "old man."

In fact, none of it is true, according to Washington Post editor and biographer David Maraniss, who traveled to Kenya to investigate the tale. His grandfather was not detained or beaten by his "white rulers," as Obama, writing as a 34-year-old lawyer, claimed.

This is only the latest example of a growing body of fabrications, embellishments and outright lies told by this president, who has a real and possibly pathological problem with the truth.

Stacked up, his whoppers would make even Bill Clinton blush. Here's a sampling:

Lie No. 1: Obama has repeatedly claimed his white grandfather, Stanley Dunham, "fought in Patton's army," when he was a clerk with no combat in WWII.

Lie No. 2: Obama claimed Dunham, a communist sympathizer, signed up for duty "the day after Pearl Harbor," when in fact he waited six months.

Lie No. 3: Obama claimed his father "fought when he got back to Kenya against tribalism and nepotism, but ultimately was blackballed from the government," when in fact he fought against capitalism and lost his job when he advocated communism.

Lie No. 4: Obama has claimed his late mother's health insurer refused "to pay for her treatment" for cancer while citing a "pre-existing condition," when Cigna paid all her hospital bills and never denied payment.

Lie No. 5: Obama claimed he and a black high school friend named "Ray" were ostracized in Honolulu, when in fact the friend, Keith Kakugawa, was half-Japanese, and neither of them experienced discrimination.

Lie No. 6: Obama claimed the father of his Indonesian stepfather was killed by Dutch soldiers while fighting for Indonesian independence, when in fact the story turns out to be "a concocted myth in almost all respects," Maraniss found.

Lie No. 7: Obama claimed his parents decided to marry in the excitement of the Selma civil-rights march of 1965 — and that he personally has "a claim on Selma" — when in fact they were married several years earlier.

Lie No. 8: Obama claimed his father got to study in the U.S. thanks to JFK's efforts to bring "young Africans over to America," when in fact the Kenyan airlift his father participated in occurred in 1959 under Ike.

Lie No. 9: Obama submitted a phony bio to his book publicist claiming he was "born in Kenya."

Lie No. 10: Obama denied being a member of the socialist New Party, when a member roster of the Chicago chapter of the party lists him joining on Jan. 11, 1996.

Lie No. 11: Obama claimed he had only a passing acquaintance with Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, when in fact they held a fundraiser for their Hyde Park neighbor in their living room, and years later, while Obama served in the U.S. Senate, hosted a barbecue for him in their backyard.

Lie No. 12: Obama claimed he never heard Rev. Jeremiah Wright spew anti-American invectives while sitting in his pews for 20 years, when in fact Obama was moved to tears hearing Wright condemn "white folks" and the U.S. for bombing other countries and even named his second book after the sermon.

Lie No. 13: Obama claimed he got in a "big fight" with old white flame Genevieve Cook, who after seeing a black play asked "why black people were so angry all the time," when in fact she never saw the play nor made the remark.

In both his autobiographies, Obama paints a false portrait of a still-racist America and West, where he, his friends and relatives are victimized by that racism. Conveniently, his remedy is redistributive justice through bigger government.
