GMW and WJ: I believe the Rothschilds are behind much of the activity in gold and gold mining. I have commented on that on my previous threads (including a link to an article outlining their VAST assets).

As I read the situation, DKT is ahead of schedule on paying back their refinanced debt to NM Rothschild. I also take it as a good sign when producers buy back their hedging positions because it indicates that they (like I) think that the POG is headed higher rather than lower. I would be worried if US producers were going short on gold at these levels.
