Rust,I am not sure of who you are talking about,but I think we will see many boxes coming out in the very near future,with greater flexibility and functionality than a digital cable box,or a network PC. Those people can build their access devices,it doesn't matter much. The people that will win,will be those that build the 2 way HFC systems,and those that own the 2-way HFC systems. The boxes will be a dime a dozen,and that might not be far off the eventual price.

Check out 8x8 Inc. (EGHT). They have interesting new products that provide the non-proprietary internet connectivity as well as a video telephony functionality. EGHT is a new company with a lot of potential. If they can achieve the critical mass required greater public acceptance, they will benefit from a huge market.
