Being from the Midwest....I for one vote to let the Asians or Eastern Europeans...have as much business as they want...Export boom or no.

Fact is we don't have enough people up here for all the Jobs being created....and It's been a problem for years in SW Michigan. Personally I wish we'd have a recession....because we've been over-heated for years up here....In fact, we're melting the SNOW!

off topic--asian crisis
<<<<<In other words, they devalued the currency on purpose to gain competitive advantage.

.......i could not disagree with you more.

....lots of countries like to change currency level 5-10% to tweak the export machine. but a 40-60% devaluation occured because their banks floated billions of dollars in loans that will never be repaid because the money was invested in companies and projects that went belly up.

......it is easy to lower the value of currency a bit--just talk the currency down and print some extra money--this crash happened due to sclerotic thinking of the politicians, banks, and business that followed suicidal financial policies.

.......and yes, knowing that china and japan have booming internet sectors tells me that it is likely that checkfree is talking to banks as we speak about the possibility of engaging these markets.
