If you believe the poll numbers, Putin has an 86% approval rating in Russia despite the economy. He really lowered the price of vodka and that could be a big part of it I think the Europeans are scared to death of Putin and I can't blame them too much. I don't think it so much about fear. The Euros like his business. He's been a godsend during their never ending recession.......giving them contracts left and right. Plus he provides them with most of their nat gas.
