Ann, The Australian Design Awards is a not-for-profit organization and is a division of Standards Australia (see the SA listing for full details), which is this country's leading Standards writing body. It is committed to improving the quality of life for all through the adoption of Standards and quality systems. It is also a not-for-profit organization. The Australian Design Awards was established by the Industrial Design Council of Australia (which operated from 1957 to 1991). Since 1991, the Australian Design Awards has been proudly supported by Standards Australia. standards.org.au As far as I know this was the only announcement. They started the program in Jun., we didn't find out about untill Oct 10, the final awarded segment was posted Dec 11th or 12th. original post #3856 steve
