Hey, my portfolio professor used to say the same kind of thing ten years ago. He also believed the market to be efficient and that you should allocate across markets. But for many if not most people, that is actually good advice, because excessive trading, especially with a full service broker, will kill you. You will invariably buy before or after the bottom and sell before or after the top. Diversifying by time irons all that out, and saves tons on commissions. Traders are not investors.
