In a Zombie Outbreak, Head for the Rocky Mountains
by Tanya Lewis, Staff Writer | March 03, 2015 11:46am ET

In the event of a zombie outbreak, the best way to avoid getting infected is to stay away from populated areas, according to a new study. In fact, research suggests the remote and pristine Rocky Mountains may be the ultimate hiding place to avoid becoming the "walking dead."

To figure out the best way to survive a zombie apocalypse, a team of researchers modeled what would happen if an epidemic of the undead were to hit the United States.

"We did a full U.S.-scale simulation of 307 million individuals and thousands of outbreaks, to see who ended up infected and who did not," said Alex Alemi, a graduate student in theoretical physics at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. "The takeaway is, you want to be as far away from as many people as possible," he said. [ See simulation of a zombie outbreak in the U.S.]

Then you should want them to get their message out, instead of wanting them censored.

Google To Silence Obama?

March 9, 2015

By Paul Homewood

"Some may still deny the overwhelming judgment of science, but none can avoid the devastating impact of raging fires, and crippling drought and more powerful storms"

[ Hey, he forgot to mention that carbon dioxide causes asthma that time. ]

It is rumoured that Google are planning to rank sites based on “facts” rather than links.

I wonder whether this will mean Obama’s speeches will disappear into the nether regions?

Green Fiasco: 92% Of Swiss Voters Reject Carbon Tax In Referendum

Anthony Watts / 1 hour ago March 9, 2015

Second worst results in modern Swiss history

Swiss voters Sunday overwhelmingly rejected an initiative that would have scrapped the Alpine country’s value-added-tax system and replaced it with a carbon tax. Roughly 92% of voters opposed the initiative while 8% supported the measure.

The initiative would have encouraged Swiss households to use renewable energy sources, including solar and wind, which would have been exempt from taxes. The initiative, which was introduced by the Green Liberal Party of Switzerland, was designed to help lower carbon emissions and reduce global warming. –Neil Maclucas, The Wall Street Journal, 8 March 2015

A proposal replacing the main consumer tax with a new levy on non-renewable energy has suffered a blistering defeat in Sunday’s nationwide ballot. The proposal by the Liberal Green Party won only 8% of the vote, according to final official results. Sunday’s result was the second worst in modern Swiss history.Swiss Info, 8 March 2015
