I'm still learning, so no way is this the ultimate answer, but...
my current criterea for bailing from a trade:

If the trade goes the wrong way from the start, no more than 5% loss.

Once I'm in the money by 5%, the stop point moves to my breakeven point.

Once I'm in the money by 10% or more, it's a lot more subjective,
I start trying to look at intermediate trends, lots depends on how volatile the stock is.
