I've got 2 small Nano 6s = 16GB - too small for a long trip since I like lossless audio and sometimes 24Bit Lossless. They will still be with me for headphones and my work blaster. Apple products do not support Flac files so it has to be ALAC. Not a problem to convert but I don't like that Apple refuses to support open source Flac audio. As I said the Pono can handle 172GB. Far more than any iDevice. Not nearly enough for my music collection but enough for a few weeks driving.

Phone wise I'll probably test out a cheapo Android from Pageplus prepaid to see if I can live with it. I'm not really into the apps part of it. If I can't live with the Android I won't loose much money to find out. If it doesn't work out I'll buy an iPhone.
As I said though I'll have to check it out. Software is always the problem with the other music players. And again the size/shape of the Pono is awkward.

But another thing I didn't mention is the DAC chip. I'm guessing its superior to Apple DAC chips. Not that big of a deal but it does add something overall.

I'll probably Zero out the hard drive on my $300 21" iMac this weekend. So far the mouse* function on it sucks as bad or worse than my 27". Its got Lion installed which I hate. I'll partition it, install Snow Leopard on the larger partition so its 100% compatible with apps and files on my 27" and upgrade the other partition as far as it goes which I'm assuming is Yosemite.

* I think its the Windows Manager that Apple screwed up somehow. Another function is you used to only have to touch a window in another app to bring it forward. Now it only does that when you touch the title bar or frame. Why they did that and abandoned the minimize function continuity is something I cannot understand. It was one huge feature that made a Mac easier to work with than a PC.
