Nimbus CD International Invests in European DVD Manufacturing

Company Positioned to Supply DVDs for Spring Market Launch

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Dec.18 /PRNewswire/ -- Nimbus CD International, Inc.
(Nasdaq: NMBS), one of the world's largest independent manufacturers of
compact discs, announced today that it will invest approximately $4.5 million
in DVD manufacturing capability to support the European market.
Lyndon J. Faulkner, Chairman and CEO of Nimbus, said, "The introduction of
DVD production capability in Europe will complement our already proven
capability in the U.S. and allows us to better serve our international
customer base for DVD product." Faulkner added, "The European market for DVD
is anticipated to grow significantly over the next few years. To date, we've
already produced more than 50 titles for Europe through our U.S. facility.
This investment will allow Nimbus to take advantage of a growing number of
early market opportunities in Europe and enhance our position as a leading DVD
supplier."
Nimbus also announced today, in a separate release, that production of DVD
units in its U.S. facility, has surpassed the 1 million mark.
Nimbus is installing full-service DVD production capability, which
includes high-density UV mastering, disc manufacturing, bonding and
specialized DVD test equipment. The new DVD-dedicated equipment, will be
installed in Nimbus' Cwmbran, Wales facility and is scheduled to be fully
operational by March of 1998 -- just prior to the official launch of the DVD
format in Europe.
The investment will allow Nimbus to offer a complete range of DVD-Video
and DVD-ROM production services and will support the DVD-5 (single-sided,
single layer), DVD-9 (single-sided, dual layer) and DVD-10 (dual-sided, single
layer) formats. The expansion will have a capacity to produce 4-5 million
units of DVD discs annually.
Nimbus' DVD investment in Cwmbran, Wales follows completion of its new,
full-service manufacturing facility in Foetz, Luxembourg. Together, the
Luxembourg and UK facilities will support the Company's strategy for
international expansion in Europe.

Billy, I did not see much substance to this, It appears to be just
a cheap shot on DVD based on the old rumors. They mention "ZERO"
sales numbers, NO OVERSEAS sales, or any of the real DVD companies.

FYI...that came off MS INVESTOR. There is an icon there to e-mail comments. Info needs to be sent to Investor and OTC too, rebutting
this.
