Earlie:

re: Goldman commentary

Extremely well written thoughts. And the humor was killing. It is good to see some meaningful thoughts expressed in a cogent manner, for a change, as opposed to bearish bilge that pegs action to dead DRAM generation prices, not unlike a parrot on its last breaths (Skeeter, no, I am not talking about you, there are others who are worse - G -). I hope you will write more often (not that I necessarily agree with your viewpoints -g-).

Best Regards,

Sridhar

Earlie

<< Having read the Goldman commentary, it is obvious that a few phone calls were
made during the last few days.....I can just hear it ....(one side only) >>

You will be amazed how many people believe the analists. I just had a call from a doctor friend of mine who literall has millions in the market lsoign his a** in CPQ and asking my advice on MU and surprised that Mu is down now after being upgraded. Is et him straight on Anal-ists.

But it works with people that have more money than brians and that is why MU is not tanking.

Earlie, Thanks for the GS stuff ... like your comments except for the bit about rallies ... yes, they do provide an opportunity to load up the wagon but when you hold puts (Jans in my case) there's always a time-gun to the head and this is one rally I could do without (g) ... got a feeling that Skeeter would echo that thought in spades ..

regards, Mike

Earlie, AWESOME! The airtight reasoning and thorough grasp of market dynamics as demonstrated by the following premises...

We are not calling for an immediate end to pricing pressure, as producer inventory still needs to be worked down

Yet the severity of the current downturn will sow the seeds of an eventual recovery in mid to late 1998

We think we are likely early in our investment theory...

...leading to the conculsion of "Priority List Buy"...

...clearly puts this dullard far ahead of the pack in the race to the bottom for worst coverage of MU 1997.

The only way you can give the "brains" behind this any slack is if it is later revealed that the new analyst is actually, in reality, a flying squirrel who somehow managed to fool the GS recruiters...

...and even then, I'm thinking there are probably better out there <g>

Good trading,

Tom
