Nonetheless, our Contest baby biotechs racked up some bubblicious weekly gains. At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 25.77% YTD (vs. up 20.87% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 20.77% YTD (vs. up 13.75% YTD a week ago) and the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index was up 25.46% YTD (vs. up 22.48% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index closed up 6.13% YTD (vs. up 2.87% YTD a week ago). Once again there’s been a turnover in the Contest lead! Boosted by a 20% allocation to CAPR, IMAN’s portfolio, up 72.60% YTD, jumped back into first place. OHM’s portfolio, up 61.46% YTD, slipped to second place with MCBIO’s portfolio, up 61.41% YTD, a smidge behind in third place. At Friday's close, 50 of the 51 Contest portfolios were in the black with 34 beating the NBI and an impressive 27 beating the SPSIBI. The 206 Contest stock picks have an average YTD gain of 21.98%.
