I was trying to put some context into the relative levels of water crises that we are facing as a result of climate change

They are existentially different situations

You posted a report on the Colorado River status, that is grim because there ain't no other source of water down here, zero, zip, nada..not even desalinization, cause we ain't even got salt water

There is a huge region totally dependent on that river

The headwaters of the Columbia River are in huge glaciers in British Columbia.

The river can't be stopped at the Canadian Border cause they don't have any place to keep that flow

It would be pricey, but I would guess, no greater undertaking than Mulholland pumping Lake Owens to LA

..these are steps that in all probability will be undertaken in anticipation of need anyway

You will need a lot more water as all of the Arizonans head north to live in Washington and shop in Oregon..
