Hitler was so crazed with armor that he had them build a tank that was so large it could only move on railroad tracks. Of course it was abandoned.
According to a recent video I saw, the Germans had built 2-6 tanks of about 250 tons each and had a 750 job on the drawing boards.....there was no mention of railroad mounted tanks and the 250 was designed to ford streams being too big for bridges. The 750 on the boards that was canceled would have had a crew of up to 30 men and was to be powered by 4 submarine engines.... Here's link that may contain it all, I haven't seen it yet...
