to all...inside selling is not always a negative act. michael eisner and michael dell recently sold shares..this time of year people inside companys sell for tax purposes..taking their options and it should not always be viewed as a negative..the same thing happened with csco last week ..it was totally misinterpreted. sue...go vvus

Gary, I couldn't agree with you more. Insiders sell shares
when (1) they're allowed to by the SEC, and (2) when they
need the money. But my guess is that prior to any major
insider sales (purely conjecture on my part!) that they
are expected to raise the sales for discussion at a board
meeting. If the PR ramifications of big sales were judged
very negative (like at the present moment it would seem!),
then they might be asked to pursue another approach, maybe
with company help, to raising the cash they need. If this
supposition of mine is correct, the issue could have been
raised prior to November, at a time when things looked better
than they did in early December.
