I don't feel any need at all for audio notification. There are times when I have 4-6 windows open at once, one of them might be SI while another could be, e.g., Bloomberg or another station. Or sometimes I have the radio or some music playing. I don't want extraneous sounds.

My cat was sitting next to the keyboard when I tried out some of the sounds, and he definitely agrees with me!

For my opinion on the issue (and you are looking for input), I don't need to hear an audio sound every time someone posts anything in any of my subjectmarks while I am tab browsing on another page. I have SI opened all the time as one of my "tabs" but I don't want to hear an audible "ploink" while viewing ESPN (for example) or anything else while away from SI.

People who are more active posters than I may disagree, but I can wait until I return to SI to get what I am looking for

Jerry.
