Al., don't mean to be picky, but ... You call for a big surprise in sales for the quarter, right? OK, they need 20% or so Q-to-Q anyway to reach that magic billion dollars in 2000 figure. The 4th qtr is big for booksellers in general (last year, B&N did 36% of their revenue in the Nov-Jan qtr). 50% sales growth would be a disappointment IMO. You note that insider selling is likely to subdue any runup, right? If sales growth beats expectations, would a true believer really sell? Doesn't the surprise tell you that the future is brighter than anticipated? Would the insiders be telling us "that's the last surprise"? You predict a 25-50% run in the stock in anticipation of a "surprise" in sales, yet you suggest that insiders would sell into the rally. You are half right. Insiders will sell, but my money is on the run being in the other direction. Regards, Bob
