Intraday, they were holding down VXX or there's simply a lot of gaming going on before tomorrow's FED statement!!

EDIT - it could be the bet is the market's going to rise and they were not looking for downside insurance?

The VIX already has entered a period of much higher volatility.



I think the Fed is going to have a lot to say about what happens with the market with any change in wording tomorrow indicating a rise in interest rates is coming. Leave out that word "patience" and we could get even more volatility in the form of a deeper sell off.

There are a number of stock setting new highs lately but the number of new lows is still disturbingly high if you ask me.
