The hard part of this for me is that markets have consistently worked and worked well, some might say optimally, for thousands of years. And now we're going to "fix" them with regulatory overload. I have tried really hard to tone down my rhetoric, lest I get unfriended on Facebook. But man, this is just stupid. One guy I've known for 40 years keeps telling me free markets "don't work." Usually, when free markets don't work it is because government screwed them up in the first place. Gives me a headache.
