Well chief I hate to haggle over terminology, but I must correct your mistaken belief: A "long" position refers to ownership of a
security. This can be in the form of an investor having the right to transfer directly to someone else, or it can be where a brokerage firm holds the securities on their behalf. Market timing refers to making of decisions about when to buy or sell. Market timing can be based on technical analysis, economics, astrology, or any other indicator you might like to use. So I was long BGO when I held it. Everyone is a market timer in a sense, unless they never sell. I sold it because I thought the timing was right. In this market if I can make 30 -50% on something in a couple of weeks - I am happy - because I want to remain liquid.
Is there a problem with this?
