I do think Jaz2 is overpriced at $549 for the internal model and $649 for the external. But considering how fast this market changes, there's a good possibility that prices will be reduced before the product ships. It should also be noted that the backward compatibility with Jaz is a feature that the competitors can't match. SyQuest's line consists largely of products that aren't even compatible with each other. - Allen
