DiamondH: <<Individual Investor has basically had a pretty horid record of picking stocks. Many of them take a e or flatline. Not that QCOM is in this crowd, but the endorsement by this mag. is not one I would consider important. Thanks for the link, however..>>

I concur. It sent a slight shiver down my spine when I saw that II was suggesting Q. Looks like we're all on the chutes today (remember the game "Chutes & Ladders" when you were a kid?). I also appreciate all posts; helps more fully round out the entire picture. Good luck to us; extra cash proves useful in times like these.

The only tech I hold that's up today is Cable & Wireless, PLC (CWP). CWP owns a majority interest in Hong Kong Telecom and is swapping some for a piece of China Telecom. An interesting company; adds some "spice" to my telecomm. holdings.

A few big winners hae pulled up overall performance to beat S&P. If one is selective/does his on DD, he can find some winners among them.

LIke all small cap stocks, there is risk. This is the fisrt time I've noticed any mid and large caps.

I made money in all three of the ones I bought last year - though I didn't enter right when the recommendations were made.
