The two teams in the finals are Westhill (of Stamford) and Fairfield Prep. Westhill has the best player in the state, a 5'9" point guard who can dunk. My friend and I just happened to sit on the bench in front of his family. His mother, a nice woman, was quite eager to tell us who she was. Frankly, the rest of the team is average. The other team takes kids from all over the state, so it's really not fair IMO that they play public schools. I know a bunch of kids who went there, but none on the team. The got to the finals by beating Hillhouse from New Haven in one of the biggest chokes (I hate to use that term for HS kids but it's applicable) I've ever seen. From 12-11 in the first to mid OT, Prep never led, yet they somehow won, aided by starting to foul at the 2:30 mark! Prior to that, Prep destroyed the true Fairfield public school in a sold out college gym at Fairfield University.
