My completely spontaneous and probably futile attempt for message number 3,000,000 comes as a wish list. First, the gratuitous sucking up part.... I wish...... ......good fortune to Brad Dryer, Jeff Dryer, Jill McKinney and everyone else on the SI staff that I haven't had the good fortune to meet. This is the best site on the Internet for average investor, bar none. May Rupert Murdoch make them an offer they cant't refuse. And, the rest..... ......prosperity and good health to my good friends on the "COMS and the Ghost of USRX w/ Other Stuff" thread. Many of us have been together since nearly the beginning of SI, and through considerable information sharing and discussion we have benefited greatly identifying investment opportunities within and beyond the networking sector. Plus, it's the most entertaining thread on SI, where off topic is on topic. ......better luck to the regulars on the Ascend thread, who change their opinions of Ascend almost as often as they change their SI usernames. Once the current Star Trek names fade out, they'll probably start naming themselves after the Spice Girls. ......continued good fortune to the regulars on the Safeguard Scientifics thread who have shown an unparalleled dedication to insightful and on-topic discussion regarding this unique partnership company. ......a better sense of humor for the people on the "Laughter the Best Medicine" thread so maybe they'll stop telling the same bad jokes over and over again. ......a lifetime supply of Rogain for James Cramer, who is looking a little thin on top. Maybe Joe Kernen will loan him some of his VVUS shampoo. ......humility for Mark Lijewski who swore that Rockwell would beat USRX to market with 56k. Perhaps a little ketchup for his crow, too. Hunts or Kraft. No Heinz. ......for a new state-of-the-art laptop for Janice Shell, so she can continue to post commentary on the social injustices in this world, even though she has conveniently forgotten her Robot friends of the past, as has Lady Goldbug, Ole 49r. ......for my fellow investors who frequent SI, be they active or lurkers, good health and prosperity in 1998. Especially the USRX and COMS EE lurkers...we know you're out there! ......an IBM Viavoice setup for the person who is undoubtedly the most prolific poster on SI Member 1916621 - Steve makes Marshall and Janice look like pikers. PeopleMark his profile and check out his message count. And I thought we were bad! ......low cost xDSL access for all Internet users by the end of '98, preferably using Aware technology delivered by Pairgain and 3Com. ......for myself? I already got grandfathered with a free membership, and already received a SI t-shirt for message number 2,222,222 (and was blacklisted from the local poker game). Okay - in the unlikely yet possible event that Dee Jay or Wigglesworth incite me enough to commit a bootable offense, I'd like a Get Out of SI Jail Free card from the proprieters. Finally, if I didn't get message #3,000,000, then nevermind. <ggg> Happy Holidays! Damn, I missed. And, wouldn't you know it, #3,000,000 wasn't even trying!
