Dems Fear Cruz: Joaquin Castro Ignores Recent Poll, Claims 'He Can't Be President'

Gazing into his crystal ball, left wing Congressman Joaquin Castro (D-TX) asserted Friday that Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) “can’t be president.”

Castro, whose twin brother Julian is the Democratic mayor of San Antonio and considered to have national political ambitions of his own, made his prediction in an interview on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, according to Politico. “What became clear this week is that he can’t be president,” Castro said. “And the reason is, nobody will follow him. Even people within his own party won’t follow him,” he concluded.

The most recent poll, however, tells exactly the opposite story. Rank and file Republicans are flocking to Cruz’s banner. A Public Policy Polling poll conducted September 25 and 26 shows that among likely Republican voters, Ted Cruz is now the leading candidate for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, garnering the support of 20 percent of his party’s voters. That places him three percentage points ahead of second place Rand Paul, who received 17 percent.

This poll is especially significant because it was conducted during and after Senator Cruz’s 21-hour speech on the floor of the Senate making the case to defund Obamacare, and it was released by Public Policy Polling, a research firm that notably leans left.

Nonetheless, Castro continued to hit his talking points. “I think that he wanted to make a big splash and he certainly has,” he stated. “But he’s done something that I think is unusual, which is he’s made Washington worse, he’s made the polarization worse,” Castro concluded.

Castro’s repetition of the Democratic Party’s talking points attacking Cruz are the surest indication that the party faithful consider Senator Cruz to be the most dangerous challenger to their nominee for president in 2016.

Democrats Extremely Worried About Cruz Candidacy

One thing you have to understand about Democrats, whenever they fear someone, they attack said someone and try to smear them, assassinate their character, etc…, and they fear Ted Cruz.

They understand the country has made a right turn, and are not happy with the socialism they are peddling. The midterm elections of last year proved that. Ted Cruz is a hard line constitutional conservative, the Democrat Party’s worst nightmare. He represents what the majority of the country believes, and the Democrats know it.

He’ll stand up and fight the Democrats instead of cowering, raising the white flag of surrender, unzipping their trousers, pulling them down around their ankles, bending over, and taking it from the minority Democrats who are still running the show like current Republican leadership is doing. Specifically John Boehner and Mitch McConnell.

Democrats have issued an email to their rank and file about Cruz, talking about the government shutdown and how it cost the economy 24 billion dollars, that claim is false, and I’ll tell you why.

The government can only consume, it can not create. Everything government does is a consumption. Everything, and I mean everything government does is paid for by somebody else (the taxpayer). So, if a portion of the government is not consuming, it can not be costing anything. That’s basic economics for dummies.

And here’s something else that’s very important. When the government shut down, did you notice? No. You didn’t, did you? You still went to work, the stores were still open, you still got your social security checks, kids still went to school, police and firefighters still responded to calls, the mail was still delivered, had it not been for the media, you never would have known.

In what was clearly meant to be an attack on Sen. Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign, announced shortly after midnight, the Democrat National Committee (DNC) may have accidentally admitted that it’s worried about a Cruz GOP presidential campaign—noting in an email to supporters that his announcement “sent shivers down” their spines. Full Story

Whenever something or someone sends shivers down the spine of the Democrat machine, you want to embrace that something or someone.

Democrats On Cruz Presidential Campaign Announcement: ‘Sent Shivers Down’ Our Spine

LYNCHBURG, Virginia — In what was clearly meant to be an attack on Sen. Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign, announced shortly after midnight, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) may have accidentally admitted that it’s worried about a Cruz GOP presidential campaign—noting in an email to supporters that his announcement “sent shivers down” their spines.

“If you’re like us, just reading that phrase probably sent shivers down your spine or produced a pretty serious roll of the eyes,” the DNC said in what it calls a “Factivist” email to supporters early on Monday. “But as of this moment, Texas Senator Ted Cruz is officially running for president, and if we don’t do everything in our power to stop him, the possibility of President Ted Cruz could become a reality.”

It listed out three things the Democrats want their base to think about Cruz.

“He led the GOP’s government shutdown, costing the economy a staggering $24 billion, as part of a personal crusade to take away quality health care from millions of Americans and give control back to the insurance companies,” the DNC email stated. “He has obstructed everything from raising the minimum wage to paycheck fairness to immigration reform. He would give corporations and the richest Americans huge tax breaks, at the expense of working Americans.”

The email concluded by encouraging Democratic activists to sign up for DNC lists, and get involved in their “Factivists” program.

Cruz became the first high profile 2016 presidential candidate for the White House to announce his campaign, and did so via Twitter–a first. Even Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), an establishment Republican who previously called Cruz a “wackobird” and has endorsed Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for president, acknowledged it’s very possible Cruz may win the Republican nomination. During an interview on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday before Cruz’s announcement, McCain said he would back Cruz should he win the GOP nomination
