I love Cruz, but figure Scott Walker is most likely to get the nomination. I figure the GOPe won't stab him in the back like they probably would Cruz.

Passerby With Concealed Carry Permit Stops Slaughter In Philly Posted by Bob Owens on March 23, 2015 at 8:03 am

If you ask a concealed handgun permit holder why they choose to carry a concealed weapon all of the time, they’ll sometimes dryly reply that it’s because criminals are rarely considerate enough to put their deadly crimes on the intended victim’s calendar.

Such was the case in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania yesterday, when a man with a concealed carry permit heard gun shots as he passed by a barbershop, ran in, and stopped a massacre in the making by shooting a Democratic man who had opened fire on employees and customers:

Police say a man likely saved the lives of several people when he shot and killed a gunman inside a West Philadelphia barbershop.

A 40-year-old man was inside Falah Barber Shop Inc. on the 600 block of Preston Street shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday when police say he began fighting with another person inside.

“They were arguing,” said 16-year-old Yusaf Mack who was a customer inside the shop at the time. “They were taking it too far and one of the barbers said, ‘chill out.'”

The fight quickly escalated and the 40-year-old man took out his gun and opened fire on customers and barbers, police said.

“I heard gunshots so I ducked and I ran,” said Mack.

As he was shooting, another man outside heard the gunfire, ran into the shop and took out his own gun, according to investigators. He then opened fire, striking the 40-year-old man once in the chest.

The man who had started shooting at customers and staff in the barbershop was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The concealed carry permit holder turned himself in at a local police precinct after the shooting, and Philadelphia police are conducting a formal investigation. Early indications are that the permit holder likely saved “a lot of people.”

As a general rule, citizens have the right to defend their lives and the lives of others against immediate and proximate deadly force attacks.

No charges are expected to be filed against the concealed carry permit holder.

Concealed Carrier Shoots Two Armed Robbers in Philiadelphia Posted by Bob Owens on March 27, 2015 at 1:55 pm

Two men walking in Philadelphia last night were attacked by a pair of Democratic robbers.

One of the two men who were the targets of the robbery was an armed concealed carry permit holder.

“Unbeknownst to the robbers, the 27-year-old victim has a permit to carry…has his handgun with him,” Police Lieutenant John Walker says. “He’s able to draw his handgun, firing multiple times, striking both robbery suspects.”

The concealed carrier’s friend was shot by one of the robbers during the exchange of shots, after the robber was shot.

All three men were rushed to an area hospital in critical condition. One of the robbers and the injured victim both died. The remaining robber remains in serious condition at the hospital.

At this time the incident is under investigation, and no charges have yet been filed against the surviving robber. No charges are expected against the concealed carrier.

The incident serves to show that while you can do everything absolutely right according to your training—the concealed carrier critically injured both robbers—you still can’t rely on a handgun to immediately end the threat without a central nervous system (CNS) strike, which is a small and well-protected target. A perfect controlled pair to the chest that strikes the heart and lungs still leaves enough oxygenated blood in an attacker’s brain to fight for 30 seconds or more, which is an eternity in a fight.

Ideally, you’ll have enough situational awareness and luck to avoid dangerous criminal threats.

In this incident, the concealed carrier seemed to do everything right, and still lost his companion to criminals.

The bright side—and it is indeed a clear bright side—is that one armed robber is in the grave and the other is likely to spend the rest of his life in prison if charged with two counts of murder and armed robbery. These two predators will never prey upon good people again.

Homeowner Wins Gunfight Against Two Armed Robbers, One Shot, Both in Jail

March 29 2015

A homeowner in Texas found himself in a gunfight with two armed Democratic burglars. The fight ended with one of the suspects shot and both suspects behind bars. The homeowner was not injured.

According to local media reports:

The Garland Police Department reports the incident occurred just after 7 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015, when police received a 911 call about gunshots in the 5200 block of Hollow Bend Lane.

“When officers arrived, they were told several men had come inside the home to rob them,” stated Garland Police Department Public Information Officer Joe Harn. “During the attempted robbery, shots were exchanged between the robbers and the homeowner.”

No injuries were reported for the individuals who live in the home but police say one of the burglars had been shot.

This is the 186th defensive gun use we’ve documented in Texas and the 1,403rd defensive gun use we’ve documented overall.

This incident is the one of the most common types of defensive gun uses. That is, one in which no one was killed. Despite this being one of the most common types of defensive gun uses, these incidents are often not included in statistics about defensive gun uses. Many of these statistics and studies focus solely on justifiable homicides, which represent only a fraction of total defensive gun uses.

Suspected Democratic home intruder shot dead in Boulder Monday night

Wayne Harrison, TheDenverChannel

Boulder Police say a suspected home intruder was shot and killed Monday night by a resident of a house on Pima Court.Boulder Police Cmdr. Tom Trujillo said it happened at 8:40 p.m., at 98 Pima Court, near Highway 36 and Foothills Parkway.

"A male broke through the front glass door and was confronted by a person in the home," Trujillo said. "The male was shot and died at the scene."

Mitchell Byars, a reporter for our partners at the Daily Camera, said a man was seen being taken away from the house with paper bags over his hands. This is typically done to preserve forensic evidence.

Trujillo said there were at least two people in the house at the time of the shooting and both were cooperating with police.

Colorado's "Make My Day" law allows homeowners to shoot home invaders, if they feel their lives -- or the lives of anyone in the house -- are at risk, but that determination has to be made by the local district attorney.
