Oregon water would be nice. I think we won't get any without the use of force.

My creek flows into the Eel River, all the way to the sea. Raygun killed the Eel River dam project, the last one on the drawing boards. I prolly was too busy demonstrating against the war to notice, but I hope I agreed with him at the time. Round Valley is about 35 miles east of me.

That post starts "Californians have not built a major reservoir since the New Melones Dam (Stanislaus River) more than 30 years ago"

The Stan was the first river I ever ran. So beautiful. I did some fundraising to stop New Melones.
We lost.

my hero......

Demonstrations were held, especially around the time of the beginning of the filling of the reservoir, culminating in Mark Dubois chaining himself to a rock and challenging the Army Corps of Engineers to drown him if they continued filling (the Corps backed down). Federal legislation was carried by one of the environmental movement’s greatest champions in Congress, and supported by President Carter. Finally there was another statewide ballot initiative to not only save the river but to mandate long overdue reforms to the whole way water was managed in California.

Anyway, , bottom line is we have too many people.

If the South really needs water. Read this, there is water available in the north. However there are always those who are against anything and everything. It may meet more resistance to export than oil through the keystone. Perhaps a trade off may work. Thirst for water far outweigh the dislike of oil.
