I'm not really sure where you got that idea. I was simply making the point that insurance isn't about saving money and never was. It is about managing risk, for which a premium is paid. If insurance were in fact saving money for the risk pool taken as a whole it would be because it wasn't insurance, it was something else.

You are arguing against open market dental insurance now? You are not talking about open market dental insurance. You are talking about some type of referral scam that results in a 60-70% savings over usual and customary fees. IT DOES NOT EXIST!
