The proper role of security measures is to protect the user before "incidences" occur. Otherwise, security amounts to continually chasing threats but never getting ahead of them.

All to the users' detriment.

But audible alerts would most certainly be more important than security.

I agree it's a low risk issue, but as Gottfried pointed out, it is subject to abuse with deceptive redirects becoming more common today.

Been like that since 2011, or longer and no incidences I can remember.
