As in biology and life in general, the most important thing for people is self --> family--> familyl relationships --> local groups & politics --> county --> state --> etc. When you say raise individual tax rates as a blanket statement (presumably the federal level) that needs to be clarified. If 1/2 the people of the US are in poverty... then I agree with the conservatives: don't tax them! They are in their local world, spending every dime locally, supporting family and self, if they even get a home, they pay local property taxes.... local is primary... and federal is built on local. I disagree with a blanket statement that lower income people should pay federal taxes... in FACT... the conservatives that are spewing this "rich pay all the taxes" are missing the point: You can't pay tax if you don't enough... conservatives should be cheering that 1/2 the folks in the US don't pay the Feds.... WTF is wrong with them??? They should be cheering!! Finally... million and millions of people paying no Fed TAX!!! AWESOME!! What is wrong with these idiots??? rich folks and are themselves invested in the stock market.> Yea, the fed has been rewarding them with nice returns and punishing people that save... OTOH... at some point here stock holders will get wiped out as well.... of course the really smart folks have a lot of money away from harms way. The real game is the FED.... people are all focused on Obama while the fed is handing rich folks billions... UFB.
