I'm content with MBNC. The stock has based and should do well over the next 3 to 10 years.

I like to buy stocks I can forget about. A lot of years I make my entire income off a single stock.

Buffet said he didnt care if the stock market shut down so long as he knew his money was in a solid business.

HOTR isnt so solid right now... show me some earnings and I may be interested. They have been bleeding q over q. They now have enuf $$ to tide them over another ~ couple years. If they didnt raise that money the would have had to shut their doors.

FWIW - I've been putting the beans in the burritos for 16 years trading.

When you said this:
I am not saying that I have never made mistakes in investing but the gains have far surpassed the small losses I have incurred.

I tried to explain to you in a PM that my bragging rights were far superior since my losses have not been small... but have been in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Since I started with only around ~8k all you need to do is some simple math --- but you just didn't get it. Perhaps you have no math skills and are deficient at deductive reasoning.

I'm not opposed to investing in a turn around situation but I will tell you that in general I steer clear of companies that inflate their book value. I dont see how the SEC lets these companies get away with that kind of crap.

Look at Nathans Famous -- -- They have a lot more in sales and they're making bank... what is their stated GOODWILL??? ---> $95k.

Only shady companies pump their asset side with those kinds of valuations: PERIOD.

Since at last count I had 84 stocks that were valued at ZERO and they account for the many hundreds of thousands of dollars in losses (both paper and hard money losses - but mostly paper profits)... I've got a little education under my belt.

Oh, and since I have six kids I've had to fill a lot more burritos than most... braces, cars, college, etc....

Well, I'm just chilling for the summer with stocks like MBNC on auto-pilot and no worries. Many small regional banks pulling back or taking a little breather here. They will march on in time.

I trust you've bailed from HOTR cuz if not you're taking an ugly bath.

re:"MBNC may eventually make money but not much for investors."

Time will tell... but for those willing to wait 3 to 10 years or more (like my kids who are just beginning to invest) I suspect they will make a substantial amount of money.

HOTR: The Q is out. Gonna average down?

Looks pretty dismal. They may manage a dead cat bounce here.

Sales improved some but losses trump sales big time. In one year the losses have increased along with the share count... double today what it was a year ago.

I've got a target or around .38 cents or BK on this one. But hey, good luck if you're still holding.
